A West Michigan Sunrise

Published July 3, 2015 by Angela

Since I have been awake since 3am, which seems to have been my routine for more years than I can count, I figured it was a perfect day to get out and get some pictures. My favorite pictures have to be nature coated with dew, and wildlife, of course.

As much as I like these pictures, I certainly hope tomorrow finds me sleeping in. May you have a beautiful day as well!

Day One of MStep Testing

Published April 14, 2015 by Angela

If you live in Michigan and have children in school (public or home), then you are surely familiar with the new standardized testing for Michigan called MStep; formerly the MEAP test.

Oddly enough, out of my four daughters, and the youngest three are still at home, they are all doing the MStep testing right now. Kendall is in 11th grade, Erin homeschools 8th grade, and Cassidy is in the 5th grade. All of the possible grade years that you would get tested in.

Since Erin homeschools, her testing took place in a local hotel about 20 minutes from us. While she started her testing, I hit some local parks to get some pictures, and then started reading a book while I waited for her to finish up. She has testing tomorrow as well, and then 3 days next week.

The First Day Of Winter In West Michigan!

Published December 21, 2014 by Angela

I was certainly expecting some snow by the first day of Winter in West Michigan, considering right after Halloween we had a week of horrible storms, several inches of snow, and enough Blizzards that schools and businesses were closed.

So I was up early, as usual, and since I have not been out lately to get any pictures, I figured it would be a good day to go see what I could find.

It was freezing cold out, literally at 32 degrees F, and I am pretty sure I destroyed one of my favorite pairs of shoes when I was looking through the lens, and not at the water, and the waves nearly knocked me off my feet when they came roaring in well above my ankles.

I will definitely be wearing the rain boots the next time I venture out this Winter. Once the snow is significant enough, the roads down at the lake are all closed and I will not be able to get anywhere near it. There are definitely both ups, and downs, about living less than 10 minutes from Lake Michigan.

The water is colder than you could even imagine!

Hoping your Sunday is warm, and full of Blessings and Happiness! I plan on doing not a whole lot more than reading 🙂
